Benefits At A Glance

Flex-spending Accounts (Full or part-time employees)

 

     Medical and/or dependent care expenses that are deducted pre-tax. Medical contributions per year is $2,500; dependent care maximum is $4,000.  Available first of the month following full or part-time employment.  Enrollment is done via AFLAC representative.

 

AFLAC Supplement Insurance (Full or part-time employees)

​

     Voluntary supplemental insurance coverage ranging from cancer coverage, hospitalization, life, intensive care and other coverage.  Available first of the month following full or part-time employment.  Enrollment is done via AFLAC representative.

 

Health Insurance (Full or part-time employees)

 

     Health plans are available through the State of Kansas Non State Employer Group Plans.  Employees have the freedom of choice  of providers and plan design to best fit their personal needs.  Insurance providers include:  Blue Cross Blue Shield, Coventry Health Care of Kansas, Preferred Health Systems and UMR, A United Healthcare Company.  Prescription drug plans are available with all carriers as well as dental coverage through Delta Dental.  Voluntary vision plans are available through Avesis. Effective Immediately.

 

Earned Time (Full or part-time employees)

 

      Earned time is based on number of hours full and part-time employees work and is available for use after a three month       probationary period.  Days earned per year and maximums are as follows:

 

                                                      < 1  year – 20 days/year                                                    Maximum of 160 hours

                                                      1 – 5 years – 25 days/year                                                 Maximum of 200 hours

                                                      5+ years – 30 days/year                                                     Maximum of 240 hours

 

      Employees cannot accumulate greater hours than listed per their years of service. Hours accumulated from previous year and current year cannot exceed 300. At this time, the employee will no longer be able to accrue more earned time until hours are used from his/her earned time bank.

 

Life Insurance (Full-time Employees Only)

 

      Paid life insurance policy on each employee for two times their annual salary.  Available on the first of the month following a three month introductory period.

 

Voluntary Life Insurance (Full or part-time employees)

 

     Voluntary life insurance is available for additional employee coverage, spouses and eligible dependents at the first of the month following a three month probationary period.  Premiums are dependent upon age of persons covered and amount of coverage.

 

Disability Insurance (Full-time Employees Only)

 

     Paid short and long-term disability insurance of employee after three month probationary period.  Short term disability benefits would begin after a 30 day waiting period paying 60% of wages.  Long-term disability begins after six month waiting period with core policy paying 40% of wages. 

 

Pension Plan (Full-time Employees Only)

 

     Voluntary pension plan with matching percentage of up to 4% by Ness County Hospital.  Full-time employees can begin voluntary coverage upon hire and enrollment with matching percentage beginning after one year of full-time service.

 

In-House Education

 

Ness County Hospital provides in-house education to all employees through Carelearning that covers the required information for each employee. Monthly CPR classes available.
