Ness County Hospital History

Ness County Hospital (NCH) has been serving the people of Ness City and the Ness County area for more than 70 years and we look forward to the next 70 years. Since its opening in 1954 to the present, NCH has stood firm in its commitment to meet the healthcare needs of our community-24/7/365. NCH has a strong tradition of high quality care with a warm personal touch.

NCH is licensed as a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) with 20 beds providing acute, skilled and intermediate care. Cedar Village is an intermediate care facility for 43 residents. We offer a basic array of services with easy access for our people. Among these are Ness City Medical Clinic, Home Health Services, Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Room, Radiology, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, EKG, lab, PT, Endoscopy, Outpatient Clinic, Lifeline and Independent Living Apartments.

NCH has a significant economic impact on our area. With over 100 employees, we are a major employer. Each paycheck turns over approximately 4 to 5 times in the local community. The hospital's $4 million annual payroll has an area wide impact of approximately $18 million. As such, NCH contributes many benefits to our area as well as excellent and timely healthcare.
